Kids Group

"My child and I are so grateful for all your help and support; sometimes it is hard to know where to turn for the very precious voice of reason, experience, knowledge and above all understanding."

The Kids Group is a fun and supportive monthly group for trans and gender-exploring children of primary school age (5-11 year olds) where you’re able to meet in a comfortable & confidential setting with other children who may feel similar to you.

At the Kids Group we provide:

  • A safe space where you can explore and be yourself
  • A chance to meet other trans and gender-exploring children
  • Fun games
  • A chance to get arty and join in with creative activities
  • Trips out (like bowling and picnics)
  • Opportunities to discuss what matters to you
  • Free food and drink
  • A separate space in the building for parents/carers to meet (tea/coffee and biscuits provided!)

In addition to the group, Allsorts provides one to one support for children if they would like to talk more in depth about their gender with a youth support worker. Whilst some of the children we see are very clear that their gender is different than their sex at birth, others feel unsure or unclear about what their gender is.

One to one support allows them to explore their feelings by talking, drawing, writing or playing. There is no right or wrong path and this may be the start of a longer journey or a period of exploration. Whichever it is for the child, we are happy to support them along the way.

"Thank you so much for all the fun times, activities, help and support that you have given my child. It has been such a happy place for him and he looks forward to coming each month"
