"Allsorts has helped me to rediscover myself and opened my eyes to many different aspects of the community which has made me feel more included and at ease with my sexual orientation and gender identity."
Drop-in is safe space for LGBTU young people aged 16-25 where you’re able to meet in a comfortable & confidential setting with friends, access one to one support with youth support workers, access information and participate in workshops and activities.
We also provide direct access to the LGBT TAPA service for anyone 14-25 where you can access mental health support within drop in.
All staff and volunteers are LGBT and are trained to work with young people. There are usually between 2-4 members of staff as well as 3-6 volunteers who run the drop in with an average of 35 young people attending each week.
We share announcements each week where we inform you about events, campaigns and opportunities from within Allsorts Youth Project and from the wider community too so you have the chance to hear what’s happening and what you can get involved in should you want to.
We also offer monthly onsite STI testing clinics run by THT Brighton (including rapid HIV testing) as well as having monthly visits from LGBT drug & alcohol workers from Pavilions.
Providing our young people with delicious, nutritious food is important to us here at Allsorts. We always have snacks and hot & cold drinks for you to help yourselves and dinner is cooked & served by our fantastic team of LGBT Volunteers and some of our Young People.
We cook vegetarian meals and have vegan options and every other week local Japanese restaurant Moshimo donate us a curry which is delicious.
"It's a space where I can always feel 100% safe. There is no discrimination or judgement. When I am here I feel really happy and able to communicate with others. It's a really important space to me."
We hold various workshops which are generally related to significant annual events on the LGBT calendar, for example LGBT History month, Mental Health Awareness Week and Trans Day of Remembrance. At times we work with other projects in the city to deliver workshops.
We have a range of creative activities to get involved with at Drop-in which include:
