Workshops at Colleges and Youth Projects
We run workshops for young people at local colleges and youth projects. The workshops look at the effects of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, and the needs of LGBTU young people.
Allsorts young people help to run these workshops. They talk about their own experiences of growing up as LGBTU as well as the impact that homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying has had on them.
Workshop topics include:
• Impact of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language and bullying on LGBTU young people’s wellbeing
• Challenging stereotypes and myths about LGBT people
• LGBTU Peer Educators’ personal testimonies of the issues they faced growing up as LGBTU e.g. coming out, bullying etc.
• How to challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language and support their LGBTU peers.
We charge a small fee for the workshops. Our rates are on a sliding scale and you choose where to put yourself on that scale. For more information about fees, please contact Allsorts.
