Training for Secondary and Primary School Staff

Allsorts can provide training for staff at primary and secondary schools in Brighton and Hove, West Sussex and East Sussex. The training generally covers the following issues, although we can tailor the training to your school’s specific needs:

• Challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language

• Preventing and responding to homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying

• Understanding the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and unsure (LGBTU) young people

• Making your school a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTU youth

• Making the curriculum LGBT youth inclusive, particularly PSHE and SRE education

Our training for staff at Brighton and Hove secondary schools is carried out in partnership with (and is funded by) Brighton and Hove Healthy Schools Team. West Sussex Healthy Schools Team is also currently funding some of our training at secondary schools in West Sussex. If your school is outside of Brighton and Hove and West Sussex, we charge a fee for the training. Our rates are on a sliding scale and you choose where to put yourself on that scale. For more information about fees, please contact Allsorts (see contact details below).

To book a staff training session on any of these topics, please contact Marianne Lemond at mariannelemond@allsortsyouth.org.uk or 01273 721211, or if your school is in Brighton and Hove or West Sussex, contact your local Healthy Schools Team.
