Legacies : Donate in your Will

It may seem strange thinking about what to do with your belongings once you have died. However when writing a will more people are deciding to leave a legacy to charity. If you feel leaving money in your will to Allsorts youth project is something that you would consider read through this page about how it would help us.

Your legacy to Allsorts

Leaving a legacy to Allsorts would be investing in the future. Each week we run a weekly LGB under-26 drop-in in youth centre in central Brighton and offer One-to-one support and advocacy. We are partly funded from public sources, but these are not enough. Each year we have to raise tens of thousands of pounds just to keep our service going. And it’s an invaluable service, providing help, advice and support on a wide range of issues and topics to young lesbians and gay men, or those affected by these issues.

However we still need to pay the running costs for our service, including building rents, telephones, utilities, etc. All these add up and we need YOUR help to keep going. Please think about leaving a legacy to help us continue our work.

With your legacy you could become part of Allsorts’s future. For further information please Contact us

Have you made a Will?

Everyone knows that they need a will but it can be one of the tasks that we put off until later. Don’t leave it too late! It is important that everyone makes a will. Making a will means that your wishes can be carried out when you have gone. If you have not made a will and you have no family then the law passes all your belongings to the state. This could then mean that people who you may have wanted to leave money or belongings to are not included.

By making a will it means that you have organised everything as you want. It has not been left to your loved ones to sort out. It may be distressing and can also take a considerable amount of time but it really is worthwhile. A will is a legal document so we advise that you obtain professional legal advice about making or changing your will. The cost of a solicitor now is far less than the legal costs that would arise from sorting everything out if you had no will.

How to leave us a gift in your Will

Leaving a legacy gift is an important decision, but it doesn’t have to be complicated.  Here are the basics:

  • State in your Will that you would like to leave a gift to us. We recommend using a solicitor or professional will-writer to make sure your Will is legal and valid.
  • Include our full name, to make sure the money goes to the right place: Allsorts Youth Project Ltd, Registered charity in England and Wales (No : 1123014).
