Allsorts wins the award for Stonewall Community Group of the Year
 The fourth Stonewall Awards, hosted by Gok Wan, were held on 5th November 2009 at London 's V&A and attended by more than 400 people including celebrities, politicians, sportspeople and writers. The event, sponsored by Barclays, celebrated those who have made a positive impact on the lives of lesbian, gay and bisexual people in 2009. Allsorts, a small youth charity in Brighton , won the award for Stonewall Community Group of the Year for their work supporting LGBT youth and their anti-bulling peer education work in schools, and colleges. They also received a cheque for £5000 from Barclays. Other 2009 Stonewall Award winners included Boyzone, Sarah Waters, Joan Bakewell and Ben Bradshaw.
Kerry Bridge , the young person who Chairs of Allsorts, said 'it was quite nerve racking as you could see how many people were around us and some really top celebrities. We were called to come and get the award on behalf of Allsorts, we got so many cheers and claps from everyone!' She and Jess Wood, the Project Director, received the award from Gok Wan and Ben Summerskill and in their acceptance speech spoke of the high levels of suicide and self harm among LGBT youth and the important work all the LGBT youth groups are doing throughout the UK . They highlighted the need for more education in schools to stop bullying.
