Allsorts’ Spooktacular Halloween Party 2015 (by Joe – Young Person)

November 2nd, 2015 by

Once again it was time for our annual Halloween Monster Bash at drop in and wow what a wonderful night it was. The room was decorated cobwebs, spiders, light up ghosts, pumpkins, spiders, and bats, big banners with “Happy Halloween” on them, banner flags, and Halloween tinsel with ghosts on them. A lot of the young people came all dressed up with costumes or they put some of the masks and costumes we had at drop in. We even had a competition for the best costume and the winner was a young person who came dressed up as The Joker from Batman and they won a tub of Halloween sweets, so well done them. To be honest they were all winners because their costumes were fantastic which is why everyone got a mini bag of sweets whether they came dressed up or not after all Halloween is not Halloween without lots of treats.

I came dressed up with a Steps Better the Devil You Know t.shirt, Steps flashing devil horns, black studded fingerless gloves, and a vampire cape and I loved it when I got to perform “Better The Devil You Know” at the party.

We had a lovely biscuit decorating workshop where the young people and volunteers were decorating Gingerbread men and Gingerbread Pumpkins which I really enjoyed taking part in and I loved decorating my Gingerbread Pumpkin, and may I add it was very delicious too. We had lots of music too including Thriller, Monster Mash, The extended Trap Door Theme, This Is Halloween (The Nightmare Before Christmas), The Time Warp, I Put A Spell On You (Disney’s Hocus Pocus) and of course my favourite, Better The Devil You Know by Steps. The Halloween Buffet was something new this year I wanted to add to the party as we always had one for our Winter Parties so I thought we should have one for our Halloween party’s as well. We had cheese pizza, grapes, tortilla chips, humus and dips, crusty bread slices, crispy choc cakes, mini shortbread, and of course lovely corn dogs. For drinks we had apple or orange juice, lemonade, cola, and pink lemonade.

Another year and another party has been and gone but I have to say this year’s party was fabulous, Being the Allsorts’ Party Organizer is a very special role for me and I always put in 101% every time there is a party at Allsorts. I really do enjoy throwing these parties and as long as everyone at the party’s is happy and having fun then I know all my hard work has been paid off. I just hope I can keep being the party organizer for Allsorts! Here’s to another 365 days till next year’s Halloween Party.
