Allsorts get’s involved with the Youth Arts Festival

April 5th, 2012 by

YAF (Youth Arts Festival) is helping Allsorts get creative!  ‘It Takes Allsorts’ is an exhibition of graffiti art from the young people here at Allsorts, which takes place Sat 28 April, Sat 5 and 12 May from 1-5pm.  The graffiti reflects expressions of ‘Strength, Solidarity and Love’ from our community of LGBT Youth.

The Youth Arts Festival will be in it’s fifth year as an annual event!   YAF ’12 showcases the creative work of young people through youth services across Brighton and Hove.  It is a multi-media art extravaganza, showing a diverse collection of creative work across the city.  YAF ’12 has a theme of ‘Personal Best’ to tie in with the Cultural Olympiad.  This is not about competition, but about being the best you can be.  YAF this year includes four days of free workshops for young people, as well as the usual theatre, visual art, graffiti, photography, creative writing, puppetry, fashion, sculpture, craft, dance, music and painting.

YAF is on between 25 April and 13 May, you can check out the listings on their website.  Well worth a look!
